nonfiction = knowledge and knowledge = comprehension. The more you know they more you comprehend and the more you comprehend the more you know.

Problem persist when I push poetry into prose often losing point in process.

Meant spent decade studyinf online reading comprehension developing taxonomies of reading around search engines.

Yet ir is the people and not the information we often query first.

Assessing comprehension is tricky and as students get older we then mix in reading and writing as primary way we ask students to demonstrate comprehension is through written responses. So are you measuring what they understand about a text or a student's ability to construct a response?
