  want
to feel
  Hang with
humans not
  masked transactions
As teacher I
  wear one every day
not cloth but
hope
   strings weighing heavy on
bent ears.
  Can't shut off
encompassing
silence
need some
 noise

Greg McVerry

we
fill our poems
with trees and birds
rarely do we atone
for screams of,
  "I can't breathe"
sheltering stanzas
of cultural melanism
getting darker
     sung on
songs of the first griot
Our presence isn't a crime
but our silence is

Greg McVerry

Sounds swoon
Kora talks
in voices of West African
djelis
wind blowing through
strings
feeds me, feeds me
with sounds of choir
dissolve words into sounds
scat a a tat do do just dat
A silence in presence
a divinity in devotion
beyond time

Found Poem from Kurtis Lamkin

Greg McVerry

Total silence
only found in
constant chatter
of falling rain
answers glean
in puddles atop
unfurling leaves
hiding the spring's
truth

Greg McVerry

I write
  No choice.
       words bleed
into screeds
      seeking
silence
    in a broken soul
pen picking up pieces
and
            wrapping poems
     in pixels

Greg McVerry

Poetry is silence
collecting in
    gasps
of disbelief
       on tongues
of tortured
               truths

Where is best place to donate to defeat @SenSusanCollins? Have utmost respect for Senator from Maine but she will not stand up to @realdonaldtrump on guns or corruption.

Her silence on the whistleblower cover up is deafening.

@SenSusanCollins must go 2020

It isn't a coincidence that the state to receive the last Slave Ship in US is first to call for removal of a Black Muslim Congresswoman, one of two first elected to Congress. This is how racism works. Silence those who speak out. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/459000-alabama-republicans-approve-resolution-calling-fo...

"Realization comes from constant, deep meditation and from the every-busy, ever -searching effort to convert theory, through practice, into useful knowledge."

"Lift
your consciousness
from the confining
noisy world
of matter
into the
vastness
of
silence"
Paramahansa Yogananda
