@nitinthewiz This is a working example of post kinds and your original question about sorting feeds: you can sort by any post type article for example https://archive.jgregorymcverry.com/kind/article/ replies: https://twitter.com/nitinthewiz/status/1109257116395528194 or combine them: https://archive.jgregorymcverry.com/kind/note,photo/

Greg McVerry

@nitinthewiz Then it would be SemPress out of the box for you. All the default post types work. You can choose or not choose to use post-kind plugins. Your current theme probably a little out of date and remember if using and theme don't use the microformats plugin

Greg McVerry

@iamjessklein if you know of any channels to send a call out we are looking for contributors who know wikimedia. Help with adding extensions and stuff, we can learn but we would rather grow the network if you know of folks who want to get involved in @wikipedia

Greg McVerry

@iamjessklein happy to help pilot any new toys, @goifoundation trying to create people and layer of first and then watch how best practices shake out. Our goal is to connect a network of personal domains with a wiki database of shared knowledge

Greg McVerry

This is also the beauty of and microformats. You should be able to hit "view source" on any web page and with a little bit of practice just know if the page works...WordPress adds some complications but Mathias and David work tirelessly and keep it smooth

Greg McVerry

@nitinthewiz This is https://david.shanske.com entire philosophy of using the taxonomies versos the custom post types. Post types are them specific you will lose them if you switch. The post kinds use taxonomies more resilient.

Greg McVerry

I did all kind of customization to my WordPress site https://archive.jgregorymcverry.com/ WordPress works so well but for me it came down to governance. I have no desire to contribute to open source projects that use a benevolent dictator for life model

Greg McVerry

@nitinthewiz I just looked at your site. You are using Independent publisher. https://david.shanske.com has some important updates in his fork. You can use the plugin https://snarfed.org/ recommended of the post kind plugin. It is set up as taxonomy.

Greg McVerry

Over time I see myself folding bits of functionality into my own site as my learning grows but for now I have a unified visual identity and don't have to spend all day fixing leaky plumbing....which gives me plenty of time to break the pipes.

Greg McVerry

@nitinthewiz yep, Known site, bumped between WordPress+Known and just WordPress decided on few static pages and keeping Known for my social stream because it just works, Plus bunch of still actively developing. @benwerd and @mapkyca launched open collective,
