Your assessment should do a few things:
First it must measure your stated objective
Second the assessment must cover the key content of the lesson
Third it must be sensitive enough elicit evidence of knowledge growth in students.
Fourth if you use a performance assessment there should be a rubric with criteria that do not overlap. If you use scale descriptors these must have clear key levers in their scale.
