Really wish I could go back two years and have future self to tell past self to use a better subdirectory system on my website. I want to put all my pages in one subdirectory but the idea of writing all the redirects.....

Also think CSS Grid a game changer, so much fun, been playing with sub grid as well, think some of the friction between beauty and ease will fade with writing websites, Grid has great potential for fun stuff me thinks.

We had a wonderful kickoff meet up as seven people, shown in the first image, joined me to hack away on their personal sites.

We spent much of the time talking about color and how to style elements with CSS. Everyone had fun choosing colors that matched their style. In the second pictureyou see Eric working on his site. In the third picture Tess tries our some hex colors. You can see a close up of her writing down hex values on her notebook in the fourth picture.

In the fourth image Qunae posts a timeline she made aboutΒ  projects in Queens

Tip (and a plea from a parent) to teachers assigning reading logs... really dig prompts focused on text structure and author's craft over useless time limits and page counts, but please let kids know they can write tonight's reading reflection tomorrow. Reading is baked into bedtime routine (yes privilege and practice we must push for all). Some kids (mine)... rule followers. I don't want them doing reading logs before bed. I want them falling asleep mezmorized (50%/50% sucess rate.... Totally made up numbers like writing grades... And inflated to make me look like better parent). Let them reflect tomorrow.

To my 8th grade teacher who gave us a C on 1st use of "to be" and failed us on 2nd I salute you. While lesson may not ring true carries racial overtones your fascist hatred for passive verbs strengthened my writing 4eva. And that's how it is.
